Chapter 27: Lord, Transform Me into a Woman of Mountain-Moving Faith

Hebrews 11:6 says without faith, it's impossible to please the Lord.  That's just how much God wants us to trust Him and faith in Him.  I think this section on faith was perfectly placed right after the chapter on the words that we speak. The bible says out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Luke 6:45).  I love the story of the Shunammite woman in 2 Kings 4:8-37.  I believe that it was her faith in action that made is such that when people asked her if there was a problem (v23, v26), her response was "it is well".  I believe that an impediment to walking by faith can be the Martha spirit of "I got it under control" instead of relying on Christ.  Just like we believe God for money, good grades, etc... He wants us to have faith about a wayward loved one, faith about a change in our hearts, etc!

What are some things that you're in faith for (that you don't mind sharing)?

  1. I'll go first. My biggest prayer right now and that I am standing in faith for is that in these next 52 days, that God molds me into the excellent wife that He has for his son.

BTW... check out today's Rick Warren devotional... right in line with the topic for this week! http://purposedriven.com/blogs/dailyhope/index.html?contentid=12800

  2. Physical healing is one of mines :)
I used to be ok with the idea behind certain diseases, not knowing that there is a Master behind this human body!

  3. Something heavy on my heart lately is praying for the hearts of those in my life to be completely touched and transformed by Jesus, especially my male friends and brothers. Sometimes I just don't know how to help lead them in that direction but I've been praying faithfully that they are touched not by my words but my prayers, actions, etc.

    1. Amen Benine! And keep having faith... just like we have all been in faith that a loved one would come around, so shall it be with them. God knows we need our men to have a relationship with them. I'll join you on that.

    2. I read Eph 6:4 ("Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord")this morning and I thought of this post. Indeed it is important for the men around, whether future husband, siblings, etc .. to have a relationship with them!

  4. Mine will be getting rid of the fact that I will never find true love because of being hurt in the past and also being able to trust myself and others along the way.

    1. Nana, I encourage you to stand on scriptures such as Psalm 17:8 (you are the apple of God's eye), Jer 29:11 (God has great plans for you), Rom 8:28 (all things work together for your good), Isaiah 41:13-14 (though a "worm" God has your back), and so much more that lets you know that God has your back! It's your desire to find true love... so trust that God will bring him to you. The danger with this time of thinking is that it could lead you to sell yourself short. Trust God that He will expose, reveal, and remove people that present themselves to you and would not be good for you (would hurt you) and then obey Holy Spirit when He nudges you. I've seen soooo many examples of God coming through for people in this area that I KNOW you CAN and WILL find true love. Just trust God and obey Him.
