Chapter 4: Made to Last Forever “You Do Not Only Live Once”
“ Years ago a popular slogan encouraged people to live each
day as the first day of their life but actually , it would be wiser to live
each day as if it were the last day of your life, it ought to be the business
of every day to prepare for out final day”. Reading this chapter all I can think
about is the phrase “YOLO”. This has been a popular word that been used lately.
Along the lines with this week’s chapter, there is more than life than just our
past, present and future. I found it amusing that life is life is like a
preschool training us for the real world or life is like a rehearsal for a play
or life is warm up for your soccer game. There is eternity after life.
Yea am scared to die, yea I do not want my life to end but
the reality is it will end at some point. In the book of Ecclesiastes, it says
that there is a time and place for everything, a time to be born and a time
die. It is essential that we live our life close to God so that after death he
will take us in into his bosom to his eternal life. The chapters enlightens us
that life after death and our enrollment in his eternity depends on our relationship
with God on earth. God expose us to his life and, forgiveness and salvation
numerous times whiles we are alive hence it is important that we let go of the
things that draw as away from God and focus more on serving him with all of
use.
It is important to serve God with all you have because it
makes a big impact in your life. Once you stop certain things you use to do in
the past that was ungodly you feel rejuvenated and feel real good. This chapter
is an eye opener when it comes to our relationship with God and also pose the
question would you go to heaven with God once you depart.
I will like to end this
chapter by asking the question at the end and feel free to reply to this post
or evaluate it on your own. Since I was made to last forever, what are the
things I should stop doing and the things I should start doing today?
Since I was made to last forever one thing I will begin to work on is better preparing for the death of my loved ones. I am not afraid to die because I know I will see Jesus in a much better place. Note: this is NOT an invitation to die anytime soon... I have way too much to accomplish on earth before then lol. But I have always said I don't know what I would do with myself if I lost my mom or my siblings. We are very close and we talk everyday. I just really love their presence in my life and to lose them would leave a big hole. However I know my family members are saved so they too would be going to a better place, plus death is inevitable. So to better prepare myself for when that time comes, whenever the topic comes up or my mind takes me there, I will start thinking about the positive if my loved ones were to die, which is that they are in a MUCH better place enjoying themselves with Jesus.
